Pants on Fire

Day 23: Things you've learned that school didn't teach you.  Things school taught me that aren't true....

1.  Work hard 9 months out of the year and you will get 3 months of pure laziness.  Laying by the pool, sleeping in, family vacations, neighborhood flashlight tag, etc.

Talk about rip my heart out.  I go through 20+ years of school where this is engrained into my noggin and then BAM. reality hits.
You mean I won't get a summer anymore?!
You mean I have to work 12 MONTHS out of the year?!
You mean I only get 1 week vacation from work the WHOLE year?!

Yea, school definitely didn't teach me that. Sayonara Summer....

2.  A complete memorized knowledge of the Periodic Table is essential to your future.

Yea, that's certainly not true...

3.  Books cost around a hundred dollars.

Funny thing, ever since I've finished school, book prices have dropped dramatically.. hhhmmm.....

4. A normal work day is 8:30 to 3:30 with a 30 minute lunch break.

Imagine my surprise when my boss told me our work day was 8-5 and to eat at my desk while I'm working!

5.  Its ok to be late as long as you have a note from your parents.

Apparently real life bosses don't think that is a very good excuse.....
